A thrilling last ten minutes in which three goals were scored as Pakistan and England played 2-2 draw in the opening match of the Rabo Men’s Four Nations Cup on Wednesday after Tuesday’s fixtures were postponed due to electrical storms in the Netherlands. A slow start from England allowed Pakistan to settle and score early through Sohail Abbas’ eighth minute penalty corner but the European champions recovered to boss the second half. Richard Smith equalised with an excellent reverse stick shot six minutes from time but Shakeel Abassi restored Pakistan’s lead with a goal on the break two minutes from time. No sooner had Abassi netted though than England were dramatically back level as captain Barry Middleton dived full length to deflect the ball into the net for 2-2.
