Jammiat Ulema Islam-F Chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman made telephonic contact with MQM Chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday and discussed current political situation of the country.
According to JUI-F sources, Maulana FAzl ur Rehman welcomed MQM to the opposition fold and requested Altaf Hussain to support Maulana Gahfoor Haidri, the opposition leader in the senate.
Sources told, Altaf Hussain assured the Maulana that JUI-F and MQM would cooperate with each other in senate and since Maulana Ghafoor Haidri has majority for becoming opposition leader thus we accept his appointment and he would be supported. Maulana Fazl thanked Altaf Hussain for his cooperation. The two also agreed that contacts with other opposition parties would also be improved and both parties would do their best to solve the problems of the masses. The conversation between the two leaders lasted for 15 to 20 minutes and it was agreed that such contacts would be made in the future.
