Fake encounters and extra judicial killings have become a norm in the operative methods of police. There are reports emerging on continuous basis of deaths under police custody, later linked with an encounter. This trend has to be checked and eradicated as every citizen has a right to a free and fair trial where they can prove their innocence or be sentenced by the court for their crimes. These fake encounters have actually deteriorated the law and order situation where people have lost trust in the criminal justice system.
