The International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned political appointments in cricket boards to improve the governance within the game. It has given its member boards two years to become democratised.
This is a blessing in disguise for Pakistan where PCB chairman is appointed by patron in chief of PCB who is the President of Pakistan. World Cup winning captain Imran Khan always demanded the same but his suggestions were never taken seriously.
But it would have been better if the ICC had given only one month or so to the PCB. Now, it is sure that the PCB will follow the instructions of ICC as rejecting the ICC demand will suspend its membership.
