Pakistan has proposed two sets of dates, July 11-12 and July 25-26, to India for holding foreign minister-level talks in New Delhi.
The dates will be finalised after receiving India’s response. The foreign ministers will likely review discussions held during secretary-level meetings held over the last four months that pondered upon issues such as terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir, Siachen and Sir Creek.
The talks between the foreign ministers would be preceded by a meeting of foreign secretaries.
Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and her Pakistani counterpart Salman Bashir held talks on Jammu and Kashmir, peace and security and confidence-building measures in Islamabad last week. The two sides had agreed to initiate a number of confidence-building measures in nuclear and conventional fields.
