Problems in transfers

This is with reference to postings and transfers issue faced by the civil servants. It is a fact that government’s utter disregard of merit in transfer and postings of officials is quite common. The situation is even worse in Punjab where hundreds of civil servants may be facing hardship due to erratic and irrational postings of officials/officers away from their hometowns. I want to point out apathy of Health Department, Punjab where it takes months for file to move and reach any conclusion/decision. The conditions are deplorable for those civil servants who have no access to any MPA/MNA or any influential person.

People are annoyed when they fail to reach out to their political representatives for any help. These politicians try to deceive their voters by recommending the case of their voters superficially. This is what happened to one of my friend who had to go from pillar to post to get his genuine right and transfer back to his hometown. The tactics used by bureaucracy to make un-necessary queries on file are just the delaying tactics. If an officer is unable to understand from the file he must be removed from the post.

It is a fact that the present Punjab government has failed to deliver what was expected from it. There is no concept of accountability as nothing is done for delinquency of any official in Health Department. I request Chief Minister Punjab to order for improvement in the old rotten hackneyed system in Health Department if he wants to get support of civil servants of the province.
