Pak-B’desh football clash to be aired live

Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Secretary Rtd Lt Col Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi said on Monday that next month’s home World Cup qualifier against Bangladesh will be aired live on television for the crazy soccer fans. Pakistan Football team are participating in the World Cup Football Qualifying Round against Bangladesh scheduled to be held at Dhaka, Bangladesh on June 29 while they will play their second leg against Bangladesh, in Pakistan on July 3. “The Pakistan-Bangladesh clash will be aired live from PTV channel while we are also trying to air it from Geo super,” Lodhi told APP on Monday adding that previously the PFF have hosted Malaysia and Palestine this year which was a great success adding that we done all security arrangements for the match. He recalled that Pakistan had not hosted any major sporting event since after the Sri Lankan cricket team attacks in Lahore in March 2009 adding that it was a milestone for us and we were confident that the match would go ahead. “Pakistan have to win both matches in order to qualify for the World Cup and it is a do and die situation for us,” he stated. He said that Pakistan had never qualified for the football World Cup and were currently placed 168th in the FIFA world rankings. He added after national football team coach Tariq Lutfi took over the charge the team had been shown a lot of improvement in and off the ground but pointed that an international coach would have trained the team better.
