Islampura police on Monday registered a case of robbery against four unidentified men, who had looted cash and official records from MAO College on Sunday. A case No 696/11 has been registered on the complaint of MAO College Principal Syed Irfan Zaidi under section 392 of PPC. The complainant has claimed that Rs 15,000 and official records were looted by unidentified men. MAO College Estate Officer Muhammad Rashid said that on Sunday at about 5 pm, four men in a silver car with blinders on the windows stormed into the college and made hostage security guard, Umar Sajjad, appointed at the main gate. Robbers demanded the guard to open the accounts office, looted Rs 0.3 million, important official records, printer and other valuables.
After the incident, the security guard reached the naib qasid’s house near the college and informed him about the incident. Subsequently, naib qasid informed the principal and other officials about the incident. College’s Principal Syed Irfan Zaidi convened an emergency meeting of professors and other office bearers and expressed his reservations about the security lapse. The men had also tried to break the lockers but failed to do it. Islampura Circle DSP was called on special request for the inspection of crime scene.
