The National College of Arts (NCA) will stay with the federal government even after devolution of the Federal Education Ministry under the 18th Constitutional Amendment, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said on Sunday. He was addressing the 12th NCA Convocation at Expo Centre. Gilani elaborated that the decision in this regard was taken since students from all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA study at the college. Punjab Governor Latif Khosa, NCA Principal Bashir Ahmed, faculty members and a large number of renowned artists were also present on the occasion. The PM said that in recognition of the immense contributions made by NCA to arts and art education, it has been decided to elevate the college to a university.
