Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif while expressing his concern over slow progress with regard to implementation on 18th constitutional amendments has written a letter to Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and demanded to convene meting of Council of Common Interest.
On the other hand, the Premier assured the Chief Minister Punjab that his reservations would be taken up at proper forum. The Chief Minister in a letter expressed concern over slow Progress with regard to devolution of ministries to Provinces, besides expressing reservation over hurdles being created by bureaucracy in this respect.
The Chief Minister also said that the ministries, being enjoyed by Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Parliamentarian would also be devolved to Provinces therefore it is creating hurdle in devolution Process. He asked the Premier to convene meeting of Council of Common interest to resolve the issues. In response to letter written, Premier Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani adopted a stance that reservation and concern being expressed by Chief Minister Punjab would be taken up at amicable forum. The devolution of ministries would be completed by June 30, he said, adding that, the meeting of federal cabinet has been summoned to approve devolution of ministries to Provinces. The Provinces would be taken into confidence on every issues, he assured the Chief Minister.
