Shah Alam Market fire finally put out

The fire, which engulfed the Shah Alam Market on Friday and injured at least five men, continued on Saturday as well. Fire Brigade personnel succeeded to control the flames after continuous efforts of half a day. Fire broke out on fifth floor of the Al-Faazil Centre, Japan Centre at the Shah Alam Market due to short circuit on Friday and turned properties worth billions of rupees to ashes. After being informed, five fire extinguishing units were sent to control the fire. Small streets of the market created problems for the fire brigade staff in extinguishing the flames. As the fire broke out, sui gas connections were suspended in the area. Shah Alam Market traders demanded the Punjab government to replace electricity wires in the area. Top Rescue 1122 officials informed Pakistan Today that the extinguishing exercise was wrapped up after clearance and survey until 6pm on Saturday.
