PPP activist gunned down, another injured

A Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) activist was gunned down and another injured by four suspects on two motorcycles near the Dhobi Ghat Flyover on Saturday. The Pak Colony police said that two PPP activists Ghaffar and Shahid were on their way to visit their friends when four suspects on two motorcycles opened fire on them near the Dhobi Ghat Flyover. The law enforcers said that Ghaffar died on the spot, whereas Shahid sustained serious bullet injuries. Pick-up driver Kashif, who was under the flyover at the time of the incident, was also injured as a result, they added. They said that the deceased and the wounded men were taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi. Ghaffar was a resident of Sher Muhammad Goth in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and was said to be PPP activist of unit No 126, they added.
BODIES FOUND: Bullet-riddled bodies of four employees of a transport company were recovered from gunny bags in Rexer Line. The Pak Colony police said that the four victims were hired by the Karachi Electric Supply Company for attending to complaints. Police said that one of the victims appeared to be tortured.
