PFF announces squad for World Cup qualifiers

The Pakistan Football Federation announced a 20-member national team for its home and away round of the World Cup qualifiers while Jaffar Khan was named the captain of the squad on Saturday. The team was named after the approval of PFF President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, who expressed his satisfaction over the team’s training and fitness. The team will leave for Bangladesh on June 26 (today) for the away match to be played at Dhaka from Islamabad while their home match will be played on July 3, at Lahore. Before the announcement of the team, the PFF president watched camp trainees and took feedback from the camp commandants at the National Stadium Islamabad.
He also watched the KRL and Navy match at the Islamabad stadium and applauded the team spirit and appreciated the efforts showed by the winning team. After watching the spirit of the players he expressed his satisfaction and hoped that the team would display true sportsmanship during the 2014 Brazil World Cup Qualifying round match against Bangladesh. He further stated the home match against Bangladesh would showcase Pakistan as a peace and sports loving nation.
