A father of 5 was shot dead by unidentified men in the Ghalib Market Police precincts. Tariq Islam, 40, a vegetable-seller at Ghalib Market, was attacked while sleeping in his house in Husainabad. The wife of the deceased said some unidenified men entered the house and shot Tariq in the head. She said she woke up by the gunshot but by that time the assailants had fled. She told the police that her husband did not have any rivalry. The body of the deceased was shifted to morgue for autopsy.
HIT AND RUN: A couple was run over by a speeding bus near the jail road underpass, Racecourse Police Station precincts, on Saturday. The deceased, identified as Saleem and Mariam, resided near Mughalpura dry port with two children age 4 and 6. They were going to work on Saturday morning when the bus hit them. Mariam died instantly while Saleem expired in hospital.
