Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ijaz Butt tenure in the board awaits the Islamabad establishment’s directives which has asked him to continue till further orders. Reports coming from the presidency say that Butt resigned right after the 2011 World Cup but President Asif Ali Zardari, who is PCB’s Chief Patron, asked Butt to carry on until further orders. Butt, who had sent in his resignation to Zardari, has asked the President to relieve him of his duties before his three-year tenure ends in October. “Basically Butt wanted to go on health leave after the West Indies tour but the Shahid Afridi issue has put off that plan,” reports said. “At the moment Butt wants to step down but the chief patron is still to decide on his successor and they are likely to meet in August to decide the future course,” reports quoted sources said. A source said Butt’s future would now be decided when he would return home in July end after a month’s leave.
