The two nephews of Pak Army’s retired major, who was murdered some time ago, were also gunned down over an old enmity by their rivals in a shootout on the premises of the Daska Kutchery’s courtyard on Saturday. A lawyer was also critically injured in the firing. The slain major’s nephews Shahbaz Khan and Niaz Khan reached Daska courts for the hearing of a case. As they came out of the courtroom, their rivals, Farooq and Tahir, after exchange of harsh words, got infuriated and opened fire, killing both the brothers and injuring seriously a local lawyer, Dilawar Padhiyar advocate. The accused fled away firing in the air. The incident created a panic and people saved their lives by lying on the ground. All the courts in Daska were closed while the lawyers also went on strike. Daska Bar Association President Muhammad Asif Bajwa expressed grave concern over this tragedy and condemned it. He termed the tragedy a security lapse, saying there was no proper security check system in the Daska courts.
