The way things are in the country right now, it does not seem the overall plight of the poor would see any change in near future. Powerful politicians, bureaucrats and feudals have made good of the country’s resources while the poor are hard pressed to make both ends meet. One cannot talk of poverty and hunger without taking into account the negative growth in industry and agriculture. These are the two sectors which can provide jobs to the poor people of the country, helping them get out of their abject condition.
Industry needs massive input of power and agriculture needs massive input of water. This can be possible only by building mega dams in the shortest period.
