The US spends $ 2 Billion every month on its forces in Afghanistan. Pakistan gets $1.8 Billion of US aid every year. Egypt, managed to waive off a loan of $ 40 Billion from the US whereas we got cut no slack of the sort. We are the ally of the US in the war on terror but we are bullied by it incessantly.
Involvement in the war on terror has cost Pakistan very heavily. The recent statements by Ms Clinton and President Obama indicate that it is not going to get any easier. As a nation, we need to decide what our rules of engagement with the US are going to be. We need to say no to drone attacks and put an end to the killing of innocent Pakistanis. This relationship has cost us and the paradigm within which it exists needs to be redefined.
