Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Iqbal awarded minor punishment to DSP Lal Muhammad Khokhar, former SDPO Khurrianwala Faisalabad, on charges of negligence, inefficiency and misconduct on Friday.
Lal had failed to arrest the criminals on which two show-cause notices were issued to him.
The notices and reply thereto submitted by the DSP were sent to the RPO Faisalabad for his views/comments, who intimated that DSP was responsible to plan raids upon criminals but he failed to do so. The DSP appeared in the orderly room of IGP and was heard in person. The DSP had nothing plausible to state except lame excuses, thus, the IGP stopped his increment for five years.
