Slain former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was posthumously honoured with an award at the International Conference on the Global Fight Against Terrorism in Tehran for her leading role in the fight against militancy. Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari received the memento on her mother’s behalf from Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. President Asif Ali Zardari, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Sudanese President Omer Al Bashir were also present on the occasion. President Zardari thanked President Ahmadinejad for the award. “By honouring Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Mr President, you have indeed honoured all those who are fighting against militancy,” Zardari said.
