The Pakistan Army is our own army, it is the crown of our heads and its generals and jawans are our brothers who render supreme sacrifices in the name of the country, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Friday. Addressing a public meeting in Dheer Kot, Shahbaz said, “Whether it is the snowy peaks of Siachin or sweltering deserts, the Pakistan Army has defended the country on every front.”
He said the PML-N was opposed to such generals who disintegrated the country or “signed NRO to cover up the crimes and the loot and plunder of [President Asif] Zardari. He said there will be a dawn of the new era in Azad Kashmir on June 26 and the victory of the PML-N and its allies would bring about a revolution and a pleasant change in the area. The chief minister said his party’s victory on June 26 would sound the death knell for the politics of Zardari and his cronies.
He said the PPP should realise that Benazir Bhutto’s party was being led by such a person who had looted public money. He said he could say it under oath that Zardari had looted the money of the people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir and deposited it in Swiss banks. He said had this money been spent on the people of AJK, the area would have become another Switzerland.
He said that if the PML-N formed government in Azad Kashmir after success in June 26 elections, problems of the people would be resolved within five years.
Mr. Sharif:
Keep the crown for yourself.
Let us have some bread …
