Ex-navy commando freed after questioning over PNS Mehran attack

A former navy commando and his brother, suspected of providing maps of Pakistan Naval Station (PNS) Mehran aviation base to militants to carry out terrorist attack on May 22, returned home on Thursday after being released by the law enforcement agencies. Former commando Kamran Malik and his brother Zaman Malik, residents of Gurumangat Road, Lahore, were picked up from a building located only a few yards from their house on May 30.
They were picked up on suspicion for providing assistance and maps to the attackers of PNS Mehran base. The family has refused to comment on the issue. Kamran was also questioned in 2008 when unidentified assailants attacked the Naval War College on The Mall.
