A political showdown

The PML(N) and PPP deserve congratulations for putting up such a fine show that enthralled 180 million people of Pakistan and the rest of the world.

A nation that now ranks 12th in the list of failed states, is corrupt from the top to bottom, lacks governance in every field, faces an economic disaster, unemployment, power shortage, water scarcity, gas load-shedding, kidnappings, daylight robberies, target killing, worst law and order situation etc cannot afford any more of these political shenanigans. People are being entertained by the present leadership free of cost.

The problem with the present crop of politicians is that they have entered theassemblies on the strength of money looted by them over the years and they are still busy in looting the money of this poor nation. They are not worried about the people but are settling their scores by criticising the army to keep the people busy and to forget the real issues.

This is the only country where non-entitled persons are enjoying highest security on the poor people’s taxes who at the average get Rs 100 per day. Look at the priorities of the government: they have earmarked Rs 5.5 million per day for the President and the Prime Minister for foreign tours; this amount is sufficient to feed 2.2 million people two meals a day.

The media is playing a very good role but they should be selective in choosing guests and analysts for their programmes for the well-being of the younger generation.

Pity the nation that welcomes its new rulers with trumpets and farewells them with hooting, only to welcome another one with trumpets.
