The salaries of police personnel in various parts of the country are not at par. The salaries are mostly meagre while the facilities available to the police personnel are mostly limited. As comparable to other government organisations, the salaries and benefits available to police are not up to the mark. The reason for the corrupt practices in this department is due to the bad salary structure. Due to which the citizens are the ones who suffer at the hands of the institution that has been established to serve them. The salary structure of police should be revised on war footing so that corruption may be curbed in this department.
