Describing PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif as a cleric, President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday said the maulvi (Nawaz) wanted to replicate the politics of dictator Gen Ziaul Haq, reported a private TV channel. He went on to say that there was no difference between Mullah Omar and Nawaz, as both of them were thinking on the same lines.
Addressing a gathering organised in connection with the 58th birth anniversary of slain PPP leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto in Naudero, Zardari blasted Nawaz over his latest political moves and said he wanted to trigger a clash between the govt and the army, but they would not allow them to make the people fighting with their own armed forces. He recalled that Musharraf had offered them installing the PPP governments in all the four provinces but they rejected the proposal.
President Zardari asked Nawaz not to forget the tears he had during his imprisonment and they (the PPP) listened to his screams to get united to fight and topple the general’s regime.
