The state minister for minorities Akram Masih Gill led a protest sit-in along with other minorities members before the chair of the Speaker at the lower house of the parliament against transfer of the minorities affairs ministry to provinces.
The minorities’ members during the National Assembly session on Wednesday urged the government not to transfer the minority’s affairs to the provinces.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani assured the members that the matter will be solved. He called the protest staged by the state minister as inappropriate and warned to sack him if he wouldn’t end his protest.
The minorities’ members ended their sit-in after talking with the prime minister.
