Livestock owners issued monsoon advisory

Livestock owners have been warned by the Sindh Animal Husbandry Director that due to expected monsoon rains in the province the immunity of animals could be lowered and contagious diseases may affect livestock.
He advised the livestock owners on Tuesday to keep their livestock at higher places in dry sheds and avoid marshy, unhygienic places during rains and get their animals vaccinated against haemorrhagic septicaemia (HS) and anthrax in cattle and buffaloes and pneumonia (CPP) and anthrax in sheep and goat.
He further advised the livestock owners that in case of any emergency, they can contact the Animal Husbandry Directorate on 022-9200990 or District Officer Livestock/Animal Husbandry of the concerned district.
