FESCO employees staged a demonstration outside their offices to condemn the decision of the federal cabinet, withdrawing free electricity facility to about 176,000 staffers of PEPCO. They shouted slogans and demanded restoration of the facility. They also wore black armbands.
CALL TO RESTORE SPECIAL ASSISTANCE TO WIDOWS: The Punjab Irrigation Department has stopped payment of Rs 200,000 as special financial assistance to the widows and families of the class four employees who die during service. This was disclosed here by Irrigation Employees Power Union (CBA) leader Allah Bakhsh Sial in a press statement. He demanded of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to order the authorities concerned to restore the payment of the financial assistance.
