Additional District and Sessions Judge Shahida Saeed on Wednesday dismissed the pre-arrest bail application filed by national cricketer Imran Nazir involved in a kidnap attempt case following a patch-up between the parties concerned. Imran and three others were implicated in a case registered at the Lytton Road Police Station. Sohail, the applicant, had submitted that the accused tried to abduct him as he stopped his car at the Qartaba Chowk signal. He said two traffic wardens at the signal thwarted the kidnapping attempt. The wardens chased the accused as they tried to flee but failed to capture them, the applicant added.
Earlier, Imran had filed a pre-arrest interim bail application on which the court had granted bail to the accused till June 22. On Wednesday, the defence council prayed the court to dispose of the pre-arrest bail application as the parties had furnished an out-of-court compromise. The court, however, dismissed the application on the account that the accused was not present in-person before the judge.
