The much awaited Shoaib Mansoor venture “Bol” is finally here: a roller coaster of emotions, ample nuances to make one think, and empathising of how families barely make ends meet.
Based in the heart of Lahore, the story is set in a house that has many daughters and even more restrictions on their growth. The storyline questions the worth of a human being, be it a woman or a person born with some imperfection. It questions the authority of reproducing human beings into this world without taking responsibility of acknowledging their worth.
Besides the poverty of the household, the father subscribes to a set of values that embody contradictions. As family members take decision to solve their problems, they get mired into deeper troubles. The complexity of their circumstances ultimately becomes a struggle for life.
Mansoor has given a film debut to Humaima Malick, who became popular on the small screen in recent years. Other stars in the movie include Atif Aslam, Mahira Khan, Iman Ali, Humaima Abbasi, Kamran Mujahid, Naeem Kashmiri, Irfan Khoosat, Riaz Mehmud, Khayyam Sarhadi, Shafqat Cheema, and Sarfaraz Ansari.
