The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is launching its “Hakoomat Hatao, Mulk Bachao” (remove government, save Pakistan) movement on June 25 by holding a mammoth public meeting at Nawann Shehr Chowk in Multan that will be addressed by party’s Chairman Imran Khan.
Raoof Hasan, media adviser to PTI chairman, said that this movement would be the first nail in the coffin of the corrupt leaderships at the centre and in all the provinces of the country. Pakistan has been looted mercilessly like no other country in the world, he said. It has been ruled, under one guise or the other, by the same corrupt coterie of people throughout the 63 years of its history, he said.
He said that more than 60% people were living below the poverty line, as their self-respect has been compromised and their future jeopardised. “Their life and properties are not safe and they run the risk of being targeted by terrorist networks without a warning,” he said. “Thousands of innocent people have lost their lives to the drone attacks that are being conducted with the connivance of the corrupt rulers who have gravely compromised national security and sovereignty and turned Pakistan into a client and subservient state for the sake of a few dollars,” he said.
Raoof Hasan also said that the PTI has stepped out to change all this and transform Pakistan into a welfare state as envisioned by its founding father Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. “We stand for justice and equity for all citizens, and Imran Khan has proved his capacity and capability to deliver by winning for Pakistan the only World Cup in cricket to date, setting up and successfully running Shaukat Khanum Hospital and research centre and establishing Namal Colleges in collaboration with Bradford University,” he said.
The adviser said that June 25 would turn a new leaf in the history of Pakistan and would change it conclusively. This is the day the country has waited for and the movement that would start on this day would culminate in the removal of the corrupt coterie of leaders and replace them with a devoted group of selfless people who would contribute to building the country to what it was originally envisioned to be a true welfare state. He appealed to the people of Multan to join in the movement in large numbers and make it a success.
