Allama Iqbal Town Operation Police on Monday claimed to have arrested around 25 criminals, associated with around eight notorious gangs, from different areas of Allama Iqbal Town during a crackdown launched against criminals last week. Police have also recovered 29 motorcycles, five cars, 75 cellular phones, a car-tracker jammer, Rs 5.4 million in cash, pistols, rifles, 100 live bullets and cartridges from their possession. Holding a press conference, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, flanked by Allama Iqbal Town Division Superintendent of Police (SP) Operation Muntazir Mehdi, told journalists that the division topped five other divisions during a weekly performance evaluation. He said that initiative of the weekly performance evaluation has been started to promote a sense of competition among all six police divisions.
