Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that Pakistan was not a country only for President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, but for its 180 million people.
“Pakistan is not only for Zardari and Gilani but it is for 180 million Pakistani people and 5 million Kashmiris. We will not allow it to be made a laughing stock,” Nawaz told a public meeting held in constituency 7 as part of his party’s election campaign.
“We will not pay lip service but we will deliver what we say,” Nawaz declared. He said the PML-N did not believe in sham politics of “take vote and then disappear”. “We had made a pledge with Zardari that the situation would change in Azad Kashmir, we did not make a pledge that we would support law-breakers or weaken the institutions,” he said.
Zardari was pursuing only his own agenda of looting and plundering and was indifferent to his pledges, said Nawaz. “His ministers taunt me that I am talking against institutions; we are not opposed to institutions but these institutions should work within their ambits,” he said. “You advocate for democracy, so why are you shying away from forming a commission on the Abbottabad incident? ” Nawaz asked.
