A 21-year-old, namely Mehnaz Rafique, committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills in the North Cantonment Police precincts on Tuesday.
The deceased was a resident of the Joray Pull area. The police said that the deceased had a domestic clash over which she locked herself up in a room and swallowed the pills.
Her family, upon finding her unconscious, rushed her to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead. The police handed over the body to the bereaved family after completing legal formalities.
BUS KILLS BOY: A speeding local bus killed an 18-year-old student in the Liaqatabad police precincts on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Muhammad Nauman, a resident of Main Bazaar Liaqatabad, was trying to ride a bus on route number 23 when the driver increased the speed causing Nauman to slip and fall, running him over.
The boy sustained serious injuries and died instantly.
The driver of the bus managed to flee while the police impounded the bus after registering a case. The police later handed over the body to the family.
BODY FOUND: The body of an unidentified 50-year-old
man was found from Shafiqabad Police precincts on
Tuesday.
The deceased was lying unconscious near the girls’ college located on Bund Road when some locals found him and informed the police.
The officials rushed him to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. The police moved the body to the morgue for autopsy and started searching for his relatives. The doctors said the deceased was an addict and died because of excessive drug-intake.
