Punjab being deprived of petrol ‘intentionally’, says Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif told reporters at his visit to the first Ashiyana Housing Scheme in Saroba Atari here on Sunday that a “petrol bomb” had been dropped on Punjab and the people of the province were being deprived of petrol intentionally. The CM said a highly unjust attitude was being shown to Punjab with regards to the supply of electricity, gas and petrol.
He said the people of Punjab had a national thinking and voted for political parties without any discrimination, but despite this a totally unjust attitude to the people of Punjab was highly unfair. He said that an equitable policy should be adopted towards the people of the entire country and if the discriminatory attitude to Punjab was not changed, the 100 million people of the province knew how to get their rights.
Earlier, talking to the families who had been allotted houses in the very first Ashiyana Housing Scheme, Shahbaz said the project was the realisation of the dreams of workers, orphans, widows and the poor. He said the government of the country was under this debt for the last 63 years and credit went to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, which had repaid it with the launch of the Ashiyana Housing Schemes. The beneficiaries paid tribute to the Cm for launching the housing scheme.
They said that residential colonies had been set up for ministers, judges, generals and officers but it was the first time that a modern housing project for the poor had been set up, through which the CM had practically proved that he had deep sympathies with the common man. Sami Ullah, who was allotted a house, said the scheme was unique in its standard and transparency.
He said that his salary was Rs 14,000 and in view of his low income, he could not have even imagined he would have his own house where he could live with his family with complete peace of mind. He said the provision of houses to the poor in the current era of inflation was a big favour of the Punjab government.
