Pakistan off to blazing start in Junior Asia Cup Hockey

The Pakistan under-18 hockey team was on Sunday off to a thumping start when it banged 18 goals to thrash Brunei in the third U-18 Junior Asia Cup in Singapore on Sunday. Waseem Abbas of defending champions Pakistan was the star of the win when his single-handedly converted seven goals of the 18 while Brunei failed to even touch the 25 yard area of the Junior Greens. Bilal Qadir and Asad Bashir shared four goals each for Pakistan while Arslan Qadir, Muhammad Irfan and Muhammad Umair shared one each. Pakistan will play Chinese-Taipei today at 1400 hrs PST.
