FBR chairman’s son arrested for running over motorcyclist

South Cantonment Police on Sunday arrested Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Salman Siddique’s son for knocking down and killing a young motorcyclist and injuring his companion late on Sunday night. Two car riders, including Siddique’s son, were released afterwards after a judicial magistrate accepted their bail. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Tariq, 20, while the injured was identified as Muhammad Ehsan, both residents of Chungi Amar Sidhu Area. According to police, Tariq and Ehsan were going home on a motorcycle bearing registration number LEM-6233. As they were crossing the Cavalry Ground Bridge, a speeding car bearing registration number LXW-7156, coming from behind knocked them down. The collision was so intense that Tariq fell down from the bridge.
