Sialkot to have world standard park

The Pakistan Army would soon set up an international standard public recreational park over 18 acres of land along the bank of seasonal nullah Bhed between Paris Road Sialkot City and Commissioner Road Sialkot Cantt. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 40 million, which has already been approved for providing the recreational facilities of international standard to the people at local level. Sialkot Cantt Station Commander Brig Muhammad Saleem disclosed this while addressing an important meeting of the district’s business community at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) the other day.
He said the official name of this park would be the “Kashmir Park”, adding the Pak Army would spend Rs 15 million out of estimated cost of Rs 40 million while Rs 25 million would be donated by the business community, the station commander added.
TRAINING WORKSHOP: A day-long training workshop on “Approach towards Environmentally Sustainable Industries (AESI)” was held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here Saturday.
Nazifa Butt, senior programme officer, Environmental Assessment Lahore), gave a detailed presentation on AESI. She stressed the need of business community’s education about the topi, enabling them to meet the global trade challenges under this WTO regime. A large number of local industrialists and workers attended the workshop.
