Political manoeuvring has reached its peak as the general election in Azad Jammu and Kashmir draws closer, with political parties holding parleys to garner support for the polls. However, the PML-N looks isolated despite making seat adjustments with the Jamaat-e-Islami and AJK People’s Party in specific constituencies.
Tough competition is expected between the PPP, PML-N and Muslim Conference on 10 seats of the total 41 for the legislative assembly seats in the upcoming polls, scheduled to be held on June 26. Political pundits said the PPP was likely to win more seats.
Similarly, AJK Muslim Conference, whose ten senior politicians have joined hands with the newly-formed PML-N AJK, is struggling to secure some seats.
