The Pakistan rugby team reached Jakarta, Indonesia, on Saturday to take part in the HSBC Asian 5 Nations Div III Rugby Tournament to be held from June 21 to 26. The Pakistan Rugby Union sent the team ahead of time to give the team extra time to acclimatise and train. Talking on phone Pakistan team manager Khuram Haroon said: “Even though it was a 14-hour flight, the whole squad is really upbeat and are jelled well together.”
He said there was a positive atmosphere among the team ranks and the boys will get involved into real training from today. The players are Abu Baker, Adnan Saeed Niazi, Ahmed Mumtaz, Anwaar-Ul-Haq, Zafar, Arsalan, Zahid, Babar Muhammad, Kawar Ashraf, Khalid Mahmood, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Manan Naseem, Omer Shafqaat, Salman Majeed Wain, Shakeel Ahmed, Umer Islam, Umer Usman, Shahbaz Munir, Imad Nasir, Mansoor Rehan, Shuaib Aftab, Javed, Sair, Riaz, Saqib Murtza, Haroon Jahanzeb Durrani and Amrez Hamid The Officials on tour are coach Mike Pirrit, Coach Rizwan Malik and Manger Khuram Haroon Secretary Arif Saeed will be joining the tour after he attends the Asian rugby General council meeting which is being held in Bangkok Thailand on June 17-18.
