Former president and All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) chief Pervez Musharraf on Saturday reiterated that he would return to Pakistan by March 23, 2012 to take part in the 2013 general election.
In a video address to an APML workers’ convention, Musharraf said he was ready to face the courts for charges that had been framed by his political rivals. Criticising the major political parties in the country, including the PPP and PML-N, he declared both parties statements against each other “a ping-pong game”.
He said both the parties remained in the government for 10 and six years respectively in the last 25 years and instead of taking the country towards glory and progress, they destroyed the basic infrastructure and institutions. Musharraf said both the federal and Punjab governments were failed regimes and could not bring a positive change in the lives of the masses.
