Mehran attackers were foreigners

Armed militants, who stormed the PNS Mehran naval base in Karachi on May 22 were foreigners and closer relatives, discloses a DNA report on Saturday. The identity of those terrorists was still a mystery. After the incident two samples each from the dead bodies of four terrorists were taken, one for ascertaining the nationality and other to determine the family background.
According to the DNA test which was conducted at Islamabad, the attackers were not Pakistanis. According to SSP Investigation Niaz Khoso, NADRA has no record of these terrorists, therefore, it could not be verified whether they were Pakistanis or not. However, it was proved that all four were close relatives. They were either real brothers or cousins, he added.
The attackers, equipped sophisticated weapons, had destroyed two P3-C Orion aircraft before the security forces conducted a joint operation to clear the base, during which they were killed.
