Getz Pharma CEO Khalid Mahmood has been elected as the president of Pakistan World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). He precedes Qarshi Industries CEO Iqbal Ahmed who served as the president for almost five years.
Over decades, the WWF has been headed by notable Pakistani philanthropists, businessmen and industry leaders who have helped the organisation develop into the most active environmental and conservation organisations in the country. During Iqbal Qarshi’s leadership, WWF initiated many new conservation programmes including Indus for all, sustainable agriculture, forest conversion, public interest litigation, species monitoring and environmental education outreach.
Mahmood, vastly experienced in leading initiatives and business strategies, is expected to help the organisation sustain its steady growth.
Mahmood is a graduate from the prestigious Rutgers University and is heading Getz Pharma, manufacturer of branded generic medicinal products. He is also a scuba-diver and actively participates in marine and coastal protection activities.
