Hoti announces setting up Abaseen Division

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti Saturday announced establishment of a new administrative division, Abaseen, comprising Battagram, Kohistan and Torghar districts. Hoti announced the decision while addressing a public gathering at Battagram where an independent MPA Taj Mohammad Tarand along with his electorates, friends and family members joined the Awami National Party (ANP). Taj is the son of former provincial minister Haji Mohammad Yousaf Khan Tarand who was elected to the provincial assembly from Battagram in 1988, 1990, 1993 and 1997. As a result of the influential Tarand family’s move to join the ranks of ANP, the nationalist party has been strengthened in the northern parts of the province.
It is worth mentioning that Abaseen Division has been carved out of the Hazara Division. Beside the chief minister, the rally was also addressed by provincial chief of ANP Senator Afrasiab Khattak, Taj Mohammad Tarand, Yousaf Tarand and others. A number of provincial ministers also attended the public meeting. During his address, Hoti also announced handsome packages for the development of newly announced Abaseen Division and Battagram.
