Rana Sanaullah and Dr(?) Babar Awan are at it again. First, Rana curled up his mustaches and called Awan wajib-ul-qatal which amounts to throwing all decency to the wind or rather into the trash can. Lucky for Awan that Rana sounds and looks more like Maula Jatt than a Maulvi so nobody took the decree seriously. However, Rana has seen the light and retracted. He now says that what he actually meant was that “Awan is a satanic personality.” Now, Awan who temps as a preacher whenever opportunity presents itself is understandably displeased. Here you want to be a preacher, instead you become a lawyer and now the likes of Maula Jatt call you satanic. We hear that Awan is all set to put his profession to use and sue the Rana.

They say all Muslim Leaguers, no matter from which faction, have one thing in common. He considers himself a superhero and genuinely feels that he towers over his party stature. In other word hum se zamana hai, zamane se hum nahin. When Mian Sahib invited the dissident PML group to sup and gup shup, the Like-Minded lot promptly thought that NS had finally relented. He needed them desperately and would charm them with offers they could not refuse. We hear that each of them made a wish list and landed up in Mian’s hospitality room. Unfortunately their hopes were dashed.
They found a confident Mian Sahib who sized them up and reserved judgment. He informed them that this was not a flat offer to all poised to jump ship. Mian Sahib would “pick and choose”. Shattered, the former Q-League ministers/superheroes went home nursing their pride and eying each other suspiciously. We hear that the camaraderie among them has been replaced by rivalry. Indeed, who and how many will Mian Sahib pick and choose. That is a million dollar question.

The news that a Pakistani parliamentarian is doing some citizen journalism, or rather citizen spying and providing CDs of in camera parliamentary proceedings to the US mission in Islamabad, is totally inaccurate. According to our sources, there is not one but several spies in the national and provincial parliaments and the US Embassy has a hard time choosing which ones are acceptable to them.

Unless all factions of PML unite before the next election, it will be hard for them to stop PPP to form the next government too. Zardari is proving to be too shrewd for Mian Sahib to handle. Just comparing Awan with Sanaullah tells the difference between both parties.
