Presently, the most needed aspect in our society is the rule of law and police, being the prime law enforcement agency, can ensure it. The rule of law means rich or poor, man or women, government and even the police have to obey the law and must live according to the laws that are laid down in our country under our constitution. In order to ensure this, accountability is of utmost importance. Police are equally accountable before law, but it is also important to ensure that all the laws that are enacted must be just and reasonable keeping in view the equality of man. By establishing the rule of law in our society, we can ensure peace and harmony among the different segments which is perhaps the most desirable aspect in the present scenario.
