Abrar’s death shocks sports fraternity

Pakistan’s sports circles have condoled the death of Director PSB Coaching Centre Syed Abrar Hussain Shah who was killed by some unknown criminals in his office on Thursday. He received bullets in his head and was taken to CMH Quetta in a critical condition where he succumbed to injuries. The deceased left behind wife, daughter and son to mourn his death. He was Olympian boxer, Asian Gold Medalist in Boxing.
He won 11 gold, six silver and five bronze medals at national and international level. Owing to his meritorious services, he was awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz Civil on March 23, 1990. His funeral will be held today at 1800 hours at Quetta. Federal Minister for Sports, Engg. Shaukat Ullah, Federal Secretary Sports, Mr Abdul Ghaffar Soomro, Syed Amir Hamza Gilani, Director General Pakistan Sports Board, all officers and staff of the Pakistan Sports Board were shocked to hear the news of his death. All employees offered condolences to the bereaved family.
They prayed Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant the bereaved family courage to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude. President of Pakistan Boxing Federation Doda Khan Bhutto, Secretary General (PBF) Muhammad Akram Khan, Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani and Governor of Balochistan Nawab Zulfikar Magsi, Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif expressed their grief on the death of one of Pakistan’s legendary boxers.
All the employees of Pakistan Sports Board and all office bearers and members of Sports Journalists Associations of Lahore, Khyber PK, Sindh, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, boxing associations of Balochitan, KPK and Sindh offered condolences to the bereaved family.
