PPP leader and Sindh Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Pir Mazharul Haq on Wednesday expressed concern over Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah’s statement against PPP leader Babar Awan.
Speaking on a point of order in the Sindh Assembly, he said Sanaullah’s remarks were not only condemnable, but also concerning. Haq said Awan was a former federal minister for Law and the Punjab law minister’s statement could pose a serious threat to his life. He called the statement an open offer to extremists for killing Awan. The minister said the murder of former Punjab governor Salman Taseer at the hands of extremists was also a result of similar statements. He demanded the federal government take notice of Sanaullah’s irresponsible statement.
