The number of bodies recovered from mass graves in this northern Mexican city rose to 241, public security officials said in updating the toll from 236. Since the first grave was found on April 11, the military has unearthed six such sites.
Another five bodies have been unearthed in a little over a week during excavation work in Durango, a spokesman for the state public security office told AFP on Wednesday.
Only four bodies have been identified so far – all Mexicans, including a police officer from the northeastern state of Sinaloa.
