Malaysian Consul-General in Karachi Muhammad Khalid Abdul Razak disclosed that fake Malaysia visas were being sold for Rs 5,000/- in Pakistan.
He told newsmen on Wednesday that Malaysia is charging just Rs 550/- as fee for issuing a visit visa while the authorized agents charge from Rs 100 to Rs 1,000/- as consultation fee to coordinate between the consulate and applicant for processing visa.
He said that some imposters were issuing fake visas to Pakistanis by charging Rs 5,000/- that could land the visa holders into trouble. “If any agent charges more than Rs 1,000/- for handling a visit visa case, the applicant must lodge a complaint with the Malaysian Consulate in Karachi that would black-list the agent, if found guilty,” he said.
He said Malaysia was charging the lowest visa processing fee in Pakistan to provide an opportunity to a maximum number of the people to visit Malaysia, he added.
